Mensa membership is open to individuals who score in the top 2 percent of the general population on a standardized IQ test.

There are many benefits of joining Mensa. There’s the camaraderie of being among a group of diverse people who share your love of knowledge. Some like the social aspects of the organization, while others enjoy the intellectual aspects. And, more than 150 Special Interest Groups allow members to pursue their interests.

If you have received an offer of membership from American Mensa, and haven’t yet joined, we certainly hope you’ll give us a try! You need to join and pay your dues through American Mensa, and you can do this online, by phone or by mail.

How to Renew Your Membership

The Mensa membership year begins April 1 and ends March 31. To renew your membership, you must pay your dues through American Mensa.  You may renew on-line, by phone, or by mail.

How to Rejoin Mensa

If you have previously been a member of Mensa, but you’ve let your membership lapse, there’s no need to test again. You simply need to rejoin American Mensa. You can reinstate your membership online, by phone or by mail.

Membership in OCM

If you are a member of American Mensa, you are automatically a member of the Local Group where you live (based on the Zip Code of your address on file with American Mensa). In other words, if your Zip Code is within the area assigned by American Mensa to OCM, you are automatically a member of Orange County Mensa. (Note: a few nearby Zip Codes outside of Orange County are assigned to OCM, including Corona, Norco, and parts of Riverside.)

If you move to Orange County

Simply access your Profile to change your address with American Mensa, and your membership will automatically transfer to OCM.

How to Transfer to OCM Without Moving

If you are a member of a different Local Group, you may transfer your membership to Orange County Mensa, if desired. Simply contact American Mensa. Specify your member number and state that you want to become a “member by preference” of Orange County Mensa (#09-926).

Visiting

If you are a member of a different Local Group, and you live near Orange County, or you are traveling in this area, you are welcome to attend any Orange County Mensa events you wish to attend.
